Dr. Kaiyasah is a passionate advocate for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), having developed a strong interest in its clinical applications during her residency. She founded the “POCUS for Surgeons” program within Dubai Health early in her career, aiming to equip junior surgeons and residents with practical ultrasound skills to enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes. Extending this vision to undergraduate education, she also introduced a POCUS training program for senior medical students at Dubai Medical University, driven by her belief that POCUS is a fundamental clinical skill that should be learned early in medical training, similar to ECG and ABG interpretation. Her main areas of focus include EFAST and soft tissue ultrasound.
She has led and delivered numerous POCUS courses at local and regional levels, including at the ESEM Conference and other esteemed scientific meetings, and currently serves as faculty in the MBRU Fundamentals POCUS Certificate Program. With several peer-reviewed publications and regular participation in regional and international conferences, Dr. Kaiyasah remains committed to advancing surgical education, innovation, and patient-centered care.
