Dr. Danish Muhammad Sami is a distinguished physician leader whose career bridges frontline emergency medicine, patient safety, and healthcare management. He currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at SEHA Salma Rehabilitation Hospital, Abu Dhabi, where he directs medical strategy, governance, and clinical excellence across long-term care and rehabilitation services.
Dr. Sami first joined Salma Rehabilitation Hospital as Director of Clinical Operations, where he streamlined admissions, strengthened quality standards, and enhanced multidisciplinary collaboration. His leadership in this role positioned him to take on broader responsibilities as Acting CMO, guiding the hospital’s growth and clinical vision.
Born and raised in Islamabad, Pakistan, Dr. Sami graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, in 2000. In 2002, he moved to the United Kingdom, gaining broad experience as a junior doctor across England and Scotland before completing his fellowship in Emergency Medicine in North London. He went on to serve as a Consultant and Governance Lead at Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent, before relocating to Abu Dhabi in 2014 to join Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Mayo Clinic partnership hospital, as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and later as Medical Director for Patient Safety.
To complement his clinical leadership, he completed an MBA in Healthcare Management at Johns Hopkins University, deepening his expertise in strategy, operations, and healthcare leadership.
An international speaker, Dr. Sami continues to share his insights on emergency medicine, patient safety, and healthcare leadership and Rehabilitation at global conferences.
