Lubna Saffarini is an Arab Board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who previously practiced at Rashid Hospital Trauma Center (RHTC), Dubai Health, one of the region’s leading trauma centers.
She graduated from the University of Sharjah and completed her internship and Emergency Medicine residency training at Dubai Health (Dubai Health Authority previously), where she served as Chief Resident. She holds a Master’s degree in Health Professions Education from Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU). Her thesis explored clinical reasoning processes among Emergency Medicine residents. She is also a member of the education and training committee of the Arab Resuscitation Council (ArRC).
Actively engaged in research and EM resident education, her work focuses on clinical reasoning, leadership, and resuscitation, with a strong emphasis on workshop development to prepare residents for their board examinations. Drawing from her clinical background and educational work, she is currently conducting research as a continuation of her thesis, focusing on Emergency Medicine residents’ perspectives on their clinical reasoning approaches. She is also working on the development of conceptual frameworks focused on leadership in resuscitation, reflecting an Emergency Medicine perspective shaped by the specialty’s demands.
Currently working independently in medical education, she continues to contribute to research, training, and the development of future emergency physicians.
