Dr. Maryam Makki is a Trauma and surgical critical care fellow at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Abu Dhabi. She completed her General Surgery residency at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health Authority, where she developed a strong passion for trauma surgery. In 2023, she joined the Trauma Team at SSMC as a specialist , and in January 2026, she became one of the first fellows in the Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship at SSMC.

Dr. Makki is Arab Board–certified in General Surgery and holds a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FIMS) and Fellowship in Robotic surgery). She is member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) and the Emirates General Surgery Society (EGSS). Alongside her clinical practice, she has a strong interest in surgical education and academic medicine She is an ATLS instructor, She serves as an adjunct faculty member at UAE University and Gulf medical university, and she is a Point of care course director at SSMC.

She is Dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care, she specializes in the management of traumatic injuries and complex surgical conditions, with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients.
