Dr Qureshi graduated currently works as Clinical Governance Lead & Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Isle of Wight NHS Trust. Dr. Qureshi is from Army Medical College in Pakistan in 2004 and has worked for 8 years in Saudi Arabia as a specialist in Emergency Medicine before coming to the UK in 2014.
Dr Qureshi is a Cardiff University alumnus, having completed a MSc in Critical Care in 2015. He joined the Royal College of Emergency Medicine as an Associate Fellow in 2009 and became a Fellow by Examination in 2018. He is a lead examiner at the College and in November 2023, he was elected as Chair of the forum for Emergency Medicine Specialty and Specialist doctors (EMSAS), putting him on RCEM Council. The RCEM Council appointed him as Trustee Board Member in April 2024.
He is an Associate Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, Member of the Academy of Medical Educators, and Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine in Ireland.
He is RCEM’s representative on the International Federation for Emergency Medicine’s (IFEM) Core Curriculum & Education Committee, and IFEM’s lead for virtual learning events on simulation.
He is the UK Liaison on American College of Emergency Physicians’ (ACEP) Ambassador Program.
He is an international member of the Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine (PSEM) and editor for the South Asian Journal of Emergency Medicine (SAJEM).
Dr Qureshi is an instructor and course director on ATLS Provider, ATLS Instructor, Generic Instructor, BEC, and ALS courses.
He is a keen table tennis enthusiast who has established himself as an international umpire and para table tennis classifier, having umpired at multi-sport events including the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the International Children’s Games in Coventry in 2022 in the UK.
“No patient should come to harm due to lack of trained emergency staff. It is the duty of the whole EM fraternity to work together to improve Emergency Care in Pakistan and around the world,” says Dr Qureshi, who dedicates much of his time to mentoring Emergency Physicians.
