Dr. Duane Caneva is an Emergency Medicine Physician with over 30 years of experience at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. He served in the US Navy for 23 years including tours of duty on a Nuclear Submarine; as an Undersea Medical Officer in support of the Navy SEAL Teams; as Senior Medical Officer with the US Marines CBIRF team; as head of Shock Trauma Unit in Fallujah, Iraq; as Director of Emergency Preparedness to the Navy Surgeon General; and two tours at the US White House on the National Security Council staff. He continued his service in the US Federal Government as a Protective Medical Officer with the Department of State and finished as the Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Homeland Security. He currently serves as an advisor to the Abu Dhabi DOH Center of Emergency Preparedness and Response (CEPAR). He holds a Medical Degree from the University of Chicago and Masters of Science in National Security Strategy from the US Military National War College.
